You Meet Some Strange People!!

Last weekend I attended a Murder Mystery Dinner. OK it was just 3 couples who are all good friends but we had a great time. We all joined in and dressed as our characters.

The strange people, well these are the guys. There was Won Ton Willy, (John White) Some Australian guy who's name I can't remember (Stuart Abraham) and the Rev. A. Spooner (that's me - on the right).

We have never been able to quite work out how it all works but as it was set in Shanghai in the 30's and as it was nearly Chinese New Year we had a Chinese meal cooked by the our hosts for the evening (John and Janice White) and went through the booklets.

It turns out, I was the murderer. This is the second of these that we have taken part in and in the other one, it was my wife who was the killer. Do you think they are trying to tell us something!!

The next one will be set on a cruise. Careful "man overboard!!"

How do you come across a Blog?

I was thinking the other day, difficult and dangerous I know, about how people must find blogs. Is it through search engines or the dreaded 'Next Blog' button? I know I tend to use that and end up on more sites that are not English based than onto sites I can read. I find it quite frustrating trying to find blogs that are of interest and where I like the comments made etc. In fact, I have only come across 2 and one of those has now closed down (sorry Mahmood.tv I loved your Blog site based in Bahrain)! The other one is Adelaide Green Porridge Cafe by a Scot living in Australia.

I check the blogs every day and try the next blog button, hoping I will find something interesting. Usually nothing of interest has cropped up.

I have also tried Google with the keyword Blogs and then a subject that interests me. Again I have been more frustrated than enlightened. With the number of blogs that are around you would think that it would be easier to find one that could be of interest. Mind you, as I seem to have little success with my little effort here, maybe I am as bad as the rest, with nothing here to interest people of even make them stop by for a read occasionally. OK you don't leave comments but at least the visitors counter slowly keeps increasing with visits from all over the world.

I'm An Author!!

Well I have managed to publish an article on the web site http://ezinearticles.com/ Click on the link and it will take you to the article. OK Hemingway I ain't but it is a start. I was fed up at work one afternoon and started to write it. Mind you it took me about 2 weeks to get it published. I seemed to break their rules in several ways. Just as I fixed one, along came another. What the heck we got there in the end.

Is it worth it? Who knows. But we shall keep on gibbering on. Maybe one day we will start getting visitors and someone will find it amusing or at least worth reading.

Do you read this?

I am beginning to think that there is nobody out there. The number of visits counter increases but there are no comments, nobody has clicked on the link that I asked you to. In fact there has been no response of any kind. Am I alone here? OK it might not be the most wonderful of blogs. It may not get updated as often as it should but hey guys, is there anybody out there? Are we alone? etc etc. (grin).

New Camera

We had some visitors over Christmas and I had my new camera out. I put it on the coffee table next to a Christmas decoration we had on the table and I saw this view through the back screen. Well I thought it was an interesting photo. I hope you do.

Back to Normal

Ho Hum. That's the dog back to it's owner, the Christmas decorations down and back to work after the holidays. In other words, back to normal. I need the rest, over the holidays we were either visiting or being visited so this year has been a bit hectic, to say the least. I'm not complaining (well my waistband is) but is is nice to get back to the quieter life.

Having said that I start the rehearsals for the next show I am involved with (Oliver - end of April - Johnstone Town Hall, come along one and all!!) tonight, with the auditions next Sunday. I am going for the part of Mr.Bumble, the Beadle. I am even growing long sideburns (which my wife hates). I hope to get the part. I will keep you posted.
